Summer Workshops

Who are these workshops for? Teens ages 12-17. They have to be going into high school (Grade 7) or in high school (until Grade 11). Unfortunately, we cannot take anyone who does not fit this guideline, even if it is a sibling.  Class size is limited.

Do they need to have previous experience? All levels of experience are welcome. We do a variety of baking projects, some are more simple and some more complex. However, for CAKE WEEK we recommend having taken a previous class with us or a little bit of baking experience, as its a little more intense and will require more independent work and less demonstration.

What language are the classes in? The classes and notes are in English. However, many students are bilingual and the demonstrations are very visual. We have had many hebrew speakers who have enjoyed the classes as well.

Hours: 9:30-13:30 [4hrs] Please note that some of the days of the week will vary – please check for details.

Where are the classes? Classes are in our studio in Baka. Exact address will be sent out upon registration.

What discounts are available?

Siblings are eligible for a discount (10% off the second sibling)  They must be signed up at the same checkout. Enter [Sibling10].

There is also a discount for signing up for multiple weeks. Enter code on checkout [extrafrosting10]

How to Register Add the class to your shopping cart and checkout. We will follow this up with an application form to make sure the student is suitable.

What kind of baking projects will we be doing?

Each week is divided into 5 parts:

1. Quick Bakes (simpler desserts)
2. Sweet Cups (cups-based desserts and custards)
3. Cake-things (frosting cakes and other small cake projects)
4. Colorful treats (with color & creativity)
5. Yeast-based Yummies  (baking with yeast-based doughs)

By going through these “units” we hope to learn, taste and play with a lot of different baking techniques and make a variety of different and delicious treats.
